After two idyllic days visiting the Châteaux de la Loire, we drove across France to reunite with my grandparents in Lyon. Though we live far apart, these visits make family seem that much closer.

We spent the better part of the day cooking and eating in the backyard with Pappy Jeannot and Mammy Paulette, and shared stories of their lives and ours around a good bottle of rosé. Needless to say the goodbye wasn’t easy, but that afternoon made for memories that will live with us for a very long time!

Because the drive took us through the heart of Burgundy, we decided to make a pit stop in Dijon on the way to Lyon.

While in Dijon, we had to indulge in the exquisite cuisine of the Legendary Bernard Loiseau. Needless to say the meal did not disappoint!

This marked the last leg of our trip in “province” – look for more updates from us in and around Paris from here on out!
