After visiting so many things on the outskirts of Paris, we decided to make our last few days all about the city itself. We kicked off day 10 with a Bloody Mary from Harry’s New York Bar, where the drink was invented in the 1920s. Simple yet sophisticated, it didn’t disappoint. To keep with the classics, we stopped by the iconic Cafe de la Paix for lunch.
We then got to know the neighborhood between Vendôme and Opéra, famous for its plethora of high end jewelers. Since we could only marvel at the storefronts on Place Vendôme, we took to shopping in the Galleries Lafayette and admited it’s beautiful dome instead. This department store is one of the oldest in Europe, dating back to the 19th century.
The following day, we visited the Picasso museum in our neighborhood, the Marais. While we have had the pleasure of viewing some of his work in other museums before, this museum really highlighted Picasso’s evolution as an artist from period to period.
As our trip drew closer to it’s end, we decided to indulge in a Michelin star meal at David Toutain’s restaurant by the Tour Eiffel. While the plates were gorgeous, these pictures cannot capture the depth of flavors we savored (nor the quality of the wine paired with each course!)
For one last hoorah, we strolled down the Champs de Mars towards the Eiffel Tower. While stunning in the day, seeing it at night really is another experience. With a glass of champagne in hand, we marvelled at the dazzling light show that takes over the tower every hour.

This will be our last post, as our trip comes to an end. We hope that this blog could capture the incredible experience that was our Parisian vacation, and we want to thank you for following along!
A la prochaine!
